Landfall Angus Autumn Sale Result 2012
Strong demand resulted in a record result for the 2012 Landfall Angus Autumn Sale. The largest offering to date of 105 bulls achieved a 100% clearance and averaged $6,709. The top price of the day was $16,000 paid by repeat buyer Dennis Ginn of Yancowinna Angus, Inverloch Victoria for Lot 9, an Ardrossan Modest D145 son out of a Te Mania Sheen cow. Volume purchaser was Russel Robinson, Tumbe Munda Pastoral at Narcoorte in South Australia for a run of eight bulls. Ardrossan Modest sons were keenly sought after with 17 sons selling for an average of $9,058.
The heifer offering was also highy sought after with eight heifers selling for an average of $3,468 to top of $4,500 for a Te Mania Infinity daughter. All eight heifers were purchased by John Cleeland of King Isle Farms, King Island.
The high quality and consistency of the offering drew comment from a number of people attending the sale.
"We are extremely happy with our sale result and thank all purchasers and under bidders for their strong support", Landfall Angus Co-Principal Frank Archer said. "A tremendous amount of hard work goes into our program to achieve a high level and consistence of quality, it is very rewarding and humbling for us to achieve such a good result".

Landfall Angus is a family owned and operated business currently run by the fourth and fifth generation of the Archer Family. We are located in the Tamar Valley in Northern Tasmania.
Our cow herd consists of approx. 1000 registered Angus females and 300 commercial females with a strong emphasis on the traits that contribute to the profitability and sustainability of commercial beef production.
We endeavour to supply our clients with high quality Angus genetics that are fertile, structurally sound, easy doing and low maintenance without compromising the importance of growth and carcase performance.
Our goals at Landfall are:
